When Jonah Hill first hit the scene, it was probably hard to disassociate him from roles like the one in Superbad. Since then, he’s gone on to be in The Wolf of Wall Street, Moneyball, and direct his first film, mid90s.
Hill though feels that his greatest acting was in a movie that most people probably never saw. Hill teamed up with GQ to list movies that you should watch while self-isolating during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this special, he includes 1989’s Drugstore Cowboy from Gus Vant Sant. During the talk, Hill also wanted to add that his film that he collaborated on with Van Sant is one that most have most likely not seen:
“Gus Van Sant is one of my mentors, one of my favorite people on the planet, and pioneer of queer cinema,” said Hill. “He made a film with myself and Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara two years ago called ‘He Won’t Get Far on Foot’ and nobody saw it ‘cause Amazon completely fucked it up. But it’s the best acting I have done and will ever do.”
Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot is available on Amazon Prime, so while it may not be something you saw during its initial release, you can find it on Prime Video service. Have you seen this film? Do you believe it’s Hill’s best acting yet?
