Jordan Peele’s Us To Release At This Year’s SXSW Film Festival

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”12989″ img_size=”650×377″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]With Get Out having solidified Jordan Peele as what the horror movie genre needs, Us will surely be nothing short of amazing. The trailer featuring Winston Duke and Lupita Nyong’o promises us that we are in store for a mind-bending thriller that will have us all jumping out of our seats. The film will feature the previously stated actors as a couple taking their children on vacation before encountering doppelgangers of themselves who are looking to do them harm.

The upcoming film, we have found out; will premiere at the 2019 SXSW Film Festival ahead of its theatrical release. The event will begin in Austin, Texas on March 8th with SXSW’s director of film Jane Pierson releasing a statement:

“We are crazy excited to world premiere the most anticipated film of 2019 from the creative powerhouse the brought us Get Out. We honestly couldn’t imagine a more perfect film to kick off the 2019 SXSW Film Festival.”

This release will only help to generate buzz as it did with Get Out and A Quiet Place. SXSW was also a place for Ready Player One and even American Gods’ pilot in 2017 to help create an audience ahead of its release. This is a great decision by Jordan Peele and will surely make those not able to attend SXSW even more excited to run to the movies to see Us.
