“Hawk fight! Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern and Hawkgirl clash with Shayera Hol (also a Hawkgirl) when the League trio tries to break into a secret vault deep within Thanagar Prime—and the feathers are gonna fly! Speaking of secrets, M.M. learns one about himself and Lex Luthor, as related to him by the Martian Keep, guardian of all Martian wisdom and history. Meanwhile, back at the Hall of Justice, Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman must stop Starman from going nova.” – DC Comics
The first thing that stuck out was the amazing art by Jim Cheung, Stephen Segovia, Mark Morales, and the variant cover by Will Conrad. In Justice League: Battle of the Hawks the art tells much of the story, just as much as the actual plot, from the emotion each character is drawn to how the panels are laid out.
Now the actual story! There is a lot going on in this story. You have the Trinity, Wonder Woman, Batman, and Superman, back at the Hall of Justice trying to stop Starman from destroying everything by going nova. Then you have Green Lantern fighting the Lanter Corps and Hawk Girl fighting Shayera Hol as Martian Manhunter is about to learn the biggest secret of the universe or better known as “The History of the Universe?” which will be the next issue.
Overall the art is nothing but magnificent and the story for Justice League just keeps getting better and better as the story goes. Next issue I hope to know what The History of the Universe is! Will they all die and who is Perpetua? If you read this let me know what you thought of this issue of Justice League.
