While he is waiting for the two Chris’s saga to be resolved for Star Trek 4, Karl Urban is contemplating the possibility of donning the Judge Dredd helmet again as the actor expresses interest in the upcoming television series, Mega-City One

Although Urban’s last go around as [Judge]Dredd directed by Alex Garland wasn’t a big hit and won’t be getting a sequel, that doesn’t mean there may not be another Judge Dredd property that he could be interested in.

Mega-City One is in pre-production mode to becoming a TV series pilot with a script by writer Rob Williams. While Urban is not part of the new series, he is definitely open to talking about the potential opportunity:

“I’m not attached to it, although I did have a preliminary round of conversations with them. I am interested in doing it. There are a lot of great stories to tell there. It is up to them. I don’t know really where they are in the stages of development. If I get the opportunity, great, otherwise some else will do it, and we can all see some more Judge Dredd. I did read the comics when I was a kid, as I teenager I read Judge Dredd a lot.”

It has been previously reported that the show’s focus will be on a group of rookie judges and it would appear that Judge Dredd would possibly be used in a recurring capacity. With the in mind, Urban is would be interested, IF he feels that there is something of interest in the storyline to make him want to reassume the role.

“I can’t just come on and grunt and pull faces, there has to be a story there for him. There has to be a kind of little arc and a story we are trying to tell. So, we will see what they do.”

At this time, Urban’s envolvement is just supposition at this point. As usual, events will be monitored and if something new transpires with Mega-City One, we will report about it on GVNation. Do you want to see Karl Urban join the cast on Mega-City One? Give us your “judgement” at GVNation.
