Kevin Feige Talks The Future of MCU After Avengers: Endgame

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”16850″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Avengers: Endgame is upon us, which is the beautiful conclusion of the current story that has been told in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2008. But, the MCU isn’t done and we have a new chapter to this adventure to go once Endgame comes out. While we may see the departure of many characters that we’ve known for over ten years, we are making room for new people to take the spotlight and it’s looking good so far.

Kevin Feige stated:

“As we’ve been doing for years, we aren’t going to announce anything post Avengers: Endgame or Spider-Man [Far From Home] until post Endgame and Spider-Man,” Feige told ComicBook.com at a press event for Captain Marvel. “As you know as a fan, there’s a tremendous amount of potential and a tremendous amount of additional characters and storylines and groups of characters that we’re going to keep playing with. And again, that’s a testament to Marvel and to the amount of storylines and characters and amazing, amazing runs that have been in the Marvel comics.”

He continued:

“We’ve always said there are no mandates to make any more than two films a year,” Feige explained. “But, as we’ve seen the last couple years, when it naturally happens, and when there are ideas and when there are teams ready to go, we’re not going to hold something back.”

We obviously know that Spider-Man: Far From Home will be out July 5th of this year and we’re getting a Black Widow movie, The Eternals, Doctor Strange 2, Shang-Chi and a Black Panther sequel. Besides that, there isn’t much that is known, which I’m sure we’ll know more once Endgame is released and we see the consequences of the events in the fourth Avengers movie. Personally, I’m excited and it’s almost nice not knowing what’s planned, that way the excitement will be fresh once movies are announced. Hopefully, with the Fox-Disney merger, we’ll see characters such as the X-Men integrated into the MCU.

Avengers: Endgame comes out April 26th.
