    A BRIDGE TOO FAR (4K UHD & BLU-RAY)

    Street Date: 3/24/26

Blu-ray case for "A Bridge Too Far" featuring soldiers, parachutes, and cast names on a red and white illustrated cover.Synopsis: In September 1944, flush with success after the Normandy Invasion, the Allies confidently launched Operation Market Garden, a wild scheme intended to put an early end to the fighting by invading Germany and smashing the Reich’s war plants. But a combination of battlefield politics, faulty intelligence, bad luck and even worse weather led to disaster beyond the Allies’ darkest fears. Based on Cornelius Ryan’s best-selling novel, A Bridge Too Far accurately recreates in stunning detail this controversial episode in military history. Director Richard Attenborough (Gandhi, Cry Freedom) and writer William Goldman (Marathon Man, All the President’s Men) craft an epic both monumental in its scale and surprising in its subtlety. Featuring an unparalleled all-star cast—James Caan, Michael Caine, Sean Connery, Elliott Gould, Gene Hackman, Anthony Hopkins, Laurence Olivier, Ryan O’Neal and Robert Redford to name but a few—and indelible images of battle, like a sky mushroomed with falling paratroopers, A Bridge Too Far has been heralded as “the definitive World War II film” (Judith Crist, Saturday Review).

    THE BLUE LIGHT

    Street Date: 3/24/26

Blu-ray cover for "The Blue Light" featuring a red-haired woman looking upward, with the title and "Riefenstahl" displayed prominently above her.Synopsis: By the end of the silent era, Leni Riefenstahl had become an iconic German actress for her athletic performances in the mountain-climbing films of director Arnold Fanck. So it was only natural that, when making her directorial debut, she should return to the genre which had made her famous. In The Blue Light (Das blaue Licht), she plays Junta, an eccentric mountain girl whom the villagers believe to be a witch, since she and only she can reach the peak of the deadly Monte Cristallo, atop which is a cache of luminous gemstones. She befriends a painter (Mathias Wieman) and, beneath a full moon, leads him to the forbidden grotto, not realizing the tragic repercussions of having disturbed the ethereal crystals. Working with cinematographers Hans Schneeberger and Heinz von Jaworsky, Riefenstahl created a dazzling ode to the senses, a folk tale laced with magic and overshadowed by the formidable visual impact of the Dolomites.
