When it was revealed he will play the role of Dane Whitman, the Black Knight, they were even more excited. Apparently so was Marvel Head Kevin Feige. He talked briefly with Good Morning America about Harington’s inclusion to the Eternals and what that might mean for the character.
He’s a really amazing actor. This part came up in the Eternals film that we’re doing. We were so happy that he agreed to join, and it is a part that could perhaps grow into something else in the future.
The signing of Harington as the Black Knight makes a great deal of sense for a lot of reasons. Number one, he is an accomplished actor with the chops to handle emotional scenes. He is well versed already in action sequences and sword play so he brings THAT to the table. In addition, for Game of Thrones fans, it reunites him with Richard Madden who played his Half-Brother Rob Stark. When added to Angelina Jolie, Selma Hayek, and Gemma Chan as Cersei, Marvel is once again going all out in their casting.
