Actress Kristen Stewart has joined the Rose Glass-directed film Love Lies Bleeding, which is being described as a “romantic thriller set in the world of bodybuilding”. The film will be produced by A24 with the script being co-written by the Glass and Weronika Tofilska. The project serves as the much-anticipated follow-up to Glass’ deeply unsettling debut, Saint Maud.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie will focus on the “extreme qualities” that it takes in order for someone to excel in the world of bodybuilding. Stewart will play the “protective lover” of one of the female bodybuilders. Stewart was last seen in the titular Oscar-nominated role in Pablo Larraín’s Spencer.
