While Sony Pictures gears up for the release of the next installment in their wildly popular Insidious franchise on July 7th, Insidious: The Red Door,  details have emerged about James Wan and Blumhouse Productions’ next project in the Insidious universe. Kumail Nanjiani and Mandy Moore are set to lead Thread: An Insidious Tale. Filming is set to begin in Winnipeg, Manitoba in late August with writer-director Jeremy Slater at the helm.

    Plot Details

The film follows a grieving couple, Nick (Nanjiani) and Maddie (Moore), who have recently lost their daughter, Zoe.  With the help of a mysterious stranger, the couple finds themselves journeying into a terrifying supernatural realm known as The Further in an attempt to change the past and save their family.

    Zoe Character Description

Although the young actress who will portray Zoe has yet to be cast, a description of the character has made its way online. The character description reads as follows:  Zoe is a 7-11-year-old girl. The kind of radiant, delightful kid who sings all day in the backseat, Zoe is a joy. The daughter of Nick and Maddie, she’s a cheerful bundle of energy who likes to make sure the squirrels are well-fed. While her parents unpack for their weekend trip at the cabin inside, ZOE suffers a tragic drowning accident while exploring in the backyard. Afterward, her parents risk anything and everything to change the past and bring their family together again…SUPPORTING LEAD  Please check back with Geek Vibes Nation as more details about the project emerge.
