[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”6934″ img_size=”898×550″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Filed under “very big news”, The CW just announced that they have cast LaMonica Garrett as Monitor in this upcoming Arrowverse. As one of the most significant DC characters, Monitor’s inclusion in this annual event is huge. Under the name Mar Novu, Garrett will be playing an extraterrestrial being who has unlimited power and is known as Monitor. Created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez, this character was introduced in DC Comic’s 50th Anniversary.
Monitor made his first appearance in 1982’s New Teen Titans #21, as an all knowledgeable and powerful being who was birthed on the lifeless world of Oa after the creation of the Multiverse. Along with Monitor, the being has a twin “Anti-Monitor”, which proves a most formidable being. Whether we’ll see the twin in action, we aren’t sure, but we’re regardless happy to have Garrett on as the well-known DC character.
The annual Arrowverse event this year is called “Elseworlds” and will not only feature the Monitor, but Lois Lane, and Batman, played by Ruby Rose, who will go on to have her own show on the CW sometime in 2019. This is going to be such a significant event and this is really ramping up to beat last year’s event. Garrett’s inclusion into the universe will come with a huge following, since his most well-known roles come from The Last Ship and Sons of Anarchy.
The three-night event starts on December 9th!
