Law & Order: Organized Crime Pushed to 2021 and Christopher Meloni Won’t Be in SVU Season Premiere

Christopher Meloni’s Elliot Stabler is still returning to the world of Law & Order, but his reintroduce has been pushed. Whereas before Law & Order: Organized Crime was supposed to premiere this year, it’s been pushed to 2021. Which means he will not be featured in the Special Victims Unit premier. Which…sucks. We are being told that Organized Crime and a Meloni/Mariska Hargitay reunion is happening. But, like with everything in 2020, we’re being forced to wait due to COVID-19.

These days all plans are subject to change. And then they change again. And again. For now, we won’t reintroduce Stabler until the night of his Organized Crime premiere. @SVUWritersRoom has to be NIMBLE this year. https://t.co/khZoQXE3mB

As much as I am bummed out by this, I think 2020 has made me quite numb to this sort of news. I’ve been a massive SVU fan for ages. For the twelve seasons that Meloni and Hargitay headlined, I felt that no one could take their places. When Meloni left SVU, I felt that SVU was going to tank. But, the show proved me wrong and it’s been going on up until season twenty-one. And will continue until season twenty-four. So, if we have to wait a few months for this long-awaited reunion – fine.

What do you think about this news?
