It is hard to beat a good wedding movie. A wedding is always a great theme or backdrop for a film as a celebration of love and the biggest day in two people’s lives. There are many brilliant wedding films across all genres, including romance (obviously), comedy, and even horror! So, what are some of the best wedding movies of all time? There are a handful of wedding movies that are a cut above the rest and a great watch if you are looking for a cozy night in with your partner. Interested? Keep reading to discover a few of the best wedding films of all time.

    Four Weddings & A Funeral

The first film that will spring to mind for many is Four Weddings & A Funeral. This 1994 classic British rom-com written by legend Richard Curtis is one of the most beloved films of the 90s, and it is easy to see why. The film sees Hugh Grant and Andie MacDowell, meet at a wedding and share a magical night, only for her to return to the US. Their lives then intertwine across three further weddings and a funeral over the course of several years.

    The Wedding Singer

Another 90s classic, The Wedding Singer stars Adam Sandler as a wedding singer who is down on his luck after getting stood up at the altar. He soon meets a young woman (played by Drew Barrymore) who asks for his help with her upcoming wedding. He falls madly in love with her and realizes he needs to win her over before the big day. If you need to find a wedding singer for your own wedding (and one that isn’t Adam Sandler), you can find a great selection at Alive Network. You can find experienced wedding bands who will know how to put on a great show and fill the dance floor playing classics across various genres.

    Wedding Crashers

Wedding Crashers is a 2005 romantic comedy classic starring Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn as two friends who crash random weddings in order to meet women. Inevitably, their plans change when one of them falls in love with the daughter of a powerful politician, and they are both invited to an extended weekend retreat at the family compound in Maryland. The film has a great ensemble cast with many memorable and quotable moments, making it one of the more memorable romantic comedies of the 21st century.

    Bridesmaids

Bridesmaids is another hilarious romcom from 2011 with an impressive ensemble cast of Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Rose Byrne, Rebel Wilson, Maya Rudolph, Ellie Kemper, Jon Hamm, Matt Lucas, and others. The film sees Annie (Wiig) serving as maid of honor for her best friend (Rudolph), which proves to be a challenge when dealing with the other wild and chaotic bridesmaids. The film received praise for the strong cast of female characters and willingness to embrace taboo subjects with humor.

There are many superb wedding films worth checking out across many genres, but the above are the pick of the bunch and all great movies celebrating the romance and joy of weddings.
