Magnolia Home Entertainment has just released the thrilling documentary The Grab on DVD and On Demand. A 6-year long project, the film combines hard-hitting narrative journalism from The Center for Investigative Reporting with compelling character-driven storytelling, taking you on a journey around the globe from Arizona to Zambia.

Director Gabriela Cowperthwaite, the acclaimed director of the BAFTA award-winning Blackfish, joins forces with The Center for Investigative Reporting’s Nate Halverson and Mallory Newman to create a thought-provoking and disturbing documentary that dives into the dark underbelly of the very tenets of every day society. In a time where the world can feel confusing and dim, Cowperthwaie’s goal was for this 6-year investigative deep dive of a film to help explain, unite, galvanize and entertain people from all walks of life and from all corners of the world.

In anticipation of this exciting release, GVN has been provided with an exclusive new clip from the label that has us more excited than ever for audiences to check this one out. Take a look and then get the full details below!

Synopsis: Quietly and seemingly out of sight, governments, private investors and mercenaries are working to seize food and water resources at the expense of entire populations. These groups are establishing themselves as the new OPEC, where the future world powers will be those who control not oil, but food. And it’s all beginning to bubble to the surface in real time. Global food prices have hit an all-time high, threatening chaos and violence. Seeking to expose the truth, THE GRAB follows journalists at the Center for Investigative Reporting, a nonprofit news organization based in San Francisco, California, in this eye-opening investigative thriller.
