Video Quality
Maid In Sweden comes to Blu-Ray from Kino Classics and Code Red with a digital AVC encoded 1080p transfer in 1.66:1 derived from a brand-new 2K master that looks terrific. The presentation is very pleasing throughout the runtime with image stability and delineation being top notch. Skin tones are nice and natural with minute facial features easily noticeable in closeup. The picture maintains its stability even in long shots, and colors are well saturated in a visually pleasing way. Black levels remain strong with almost nothing in the way of crush. This transfer maintains the lovely natural film grain of the source which resolves well and never appears especially clumpy. Minor instances of print damage still occasionally pop up in the smallest moments, but overall clarity and detail is excellent. This presentation is a nice surprise and should please any fan of this tale.
Audio Quality
This new Blu-Ray comes with a lossless DTS-HD 2.0 Master Audio mix that presents this material flawlessly. Dialogue is stable, coming through clearly without being overshadowed by the music or sound effects. The environmental elements are delineated nicely from the chatter on the street to certain subtle weather sounds. The score maintains a pleasing fidelity as it comes through the room to help establish the dreamy mood. The track avoids most instances of age related wear and tear and distortion. This is a track that delivers in all of the ways you want. Optional English SDH subtitles are provided on this disc.

Final Thoughts
Maid In Sweden is a film that mostly delivers on its promise of a titillating, erotic journey of a young woman in a new land. The existing audience for such material will likely have a fine time with it, and there is much to enjoy about this tale of sexual exploration, but there are some unpleasant plot threads which throw a bit of cold water onto the experience. If you are a fan of Christina Lindberg, you will mostly know what to expect, and she does a good job here. Kino Classics and Code Red have released a new Blu-Ray featuring a very strong A/V presentation but pretty much nothing in the way of special features. If you are a fan of the talent involved, it is worth a look.
Maid In Sweden is currently available to purchase on Blu-Ray.
