Mark Henry has announced he will not be re-signing with AEW, with his contract set to expire on May 28, 2024. Reflecting on his time with AEW, Henry expressed gratitude towards Tony Khan and the Khan family, highlighting the positive experiences and achievements during his tenure. Henry stated, “I do feel like that it’s time for me to take more time to handle TheMarkHenry.com and the Remarkable brand and focus that attention on what my next steps are.” He emphasized the mutual decision to part ways amicably and indicated his intention to focus on personal projects before returning to professional wrestling in the future.

Mark Henry’s departure from AEW marks the end of a significant chapter in the promotion’s history. His contributions as a mentor, coach, and on-screen personality have been valuable, especially in helping younger talent develop their skills and personas. Henry’s focus on handling his personal brand and projects suggests a desire to expand his influence beyond the wrestling ring, indicating his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to his broader career goals.

Henry’s emphasis on leaving AEW on good terms and maintaining open lines of communication with the talent he mentored highlights his commitment to the wrestling community. This positive parting sets a precedent for future relationships between talent and promotions, underscoring the importance of mutual respect and understanding in the industry.

His declaration that he is “not leaving pro wrestling” and will return “full force” reflects his passion for the sport and suggests that fans can anticipate his comeback in a new capacity. Whether he returns as a wrestler, manager, or in another role, Mark Henry’s influence on professional wrestling is far from over, and his future endeavors will likely continue to impact the industry positively.
