Zemo. These are just a few of the villains shown in the Marvel Cinematic Universe over the last 10 years. “Heroes are only as good as their villain” says Infinity War director, Joe Russo. But Marvel has crowned the ultimate villain, the greatest villain to ever face the Avengers: Thanos.
“What makes Thanos so great is his conviction. This is the only solution. He’s seen it first hand on his planet” executive producer Louis D’Esposito says. The movie staring Thanos, Avengers: Infinity War, released on 4K, Blu-Ray, and DVD today and to make the release Marvel released a special crowning Thanos as the greatest villain. “Tony knows just by the way Bruce describes Thanos it’s a different game now” Robert Downey Jr, aka Tony Stark aka Iron Man says.
Joe Russo told IndieWire “I think Thanos is a marvel. It really reflects every level of nuance in Josh Brolin’s performance. You’re watching Josh as a giant, purple alien, and you’re seeing all of his movement, all of his facial expressions, on the most subtle level.” Personally, I think one of the reasons Thanos was so great as a villain was because of the phenomenal job Brolin did playing the Mad Titan, one of the reasons I crowned this summer “The Summer of Josh Brolin.” Anthony Russo added on to that sentiment saying: “Even though he’s despicable on so many levels, there’s a part of Thanos that is very empathetic. He has a very complex inner life, and he’s not all bad. Josh is a performer who’s capable of delivering that kind of complexity, where you have that level of violence in him, but at the same time you have that level of sensitivity.”
