We have learned that Scream actor Mason Gooding and Fast And Furious actor Luke Evans are in talks to join Jeff Wadlow’s new film ‘CANCUN’ for Lionsgate and Thunder Road Pictures.
Logline: When spring break takes a disastrous turn and a Cancun resort is held hostage by a terrorist group led by Victor Markovic (Evans), Chris Beckett (Gooding), an ex-Marine and 25-year-old college freshman, must use every ounce of his training to avenge his past and save the day.
The film is currently in active development with filming date yet set. Eric Champnella and Grant Thompson are writers on the film with Jeff Wadlow set to direct.
Mason Gooding is coming off another successful Scream film and is currently filming A24’s ‘Y2K’ film with Rachel Zegler.
Jeff Wadlow is currently finishing up filming Imaginary for Blumhouse and Lionsgate. That film follows a woman who returns to her childhood home to discover that the imaginary friend she left behind is very real and unhappy that she abandoned him.
With the current writers strike ongoing, the status of ‘CANCUN’ remains fluid. Stay tuned to GVN for more updates on the film.
