UPDATE: Due to schedule conflicts we have heard that Michael Keaton had to drop out of the role. (Most likely to film Beetlejuice 2)
We have learned that Mark Ruffalo will now take over the lead role. Filming looks to begin September in Philadelphia.
The series will focus on “An unlikely team forms between a rural trash collector and an FBI agent when they come together to protect a 6-year-old boy who witnessed a biker gang’s crime in the area. The trash collector, burdened with three kids and his deceased brother’s niece after his wife left him, supplements his income by robbing low-level local drug houses with his co-workers and friends”
Coming off the successful limited series, Mare of Easttown, creator Brad Ingelsby looks to return to the world of crime drama. A new limited series at HBO titled ‘TASK’ is in the works and we have learned that Michael Keaton is in talks to lead the series.
The series will focus on the FBI and Michael Keaton would play the role of an FBI agent who leads a special task force.
Michael Keaton is set to return as Batman in this years ‘The Flash’. Keaton has also found success lately in roles for Marvel Studios and he is coming off several award wins for his role as Samuel Finnix in the miniseries ‘Dopesick’.
Details outside of this including plot and when the series will go into development are scarce.
