Minor Update Given on RoboCop Reboot by Director Neill Blomkamp

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”25561″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]When it was announced almost a year ago that Director Neil Blomkamp was brought on to helm a new RoboCop reboot, there was some excitement about the prospect. Unfortunately, that is about the last anyone had heard about the project. Recently however, Director Blomkamp was asked on Twitter if any progress was being made on the new film. He replied with this brief update:

The mention of Paul Verhoeven who directed the original 1987 iconic hit might give some fans hope that when RoboCop Returns actually starts production, it might capture the camp, mixed with violence that the original film brought to the party. We will not know of course until more progress is made. At least, according to Blomkamp, the project hasn’t been mothballed so that is something.

Are you ready to see another attempt at reviving the RoboCop franchise? Perhaps the last attempt in 2014 ruined it for you? That film received criticism for its lack of violence, and the void of social satire and humor when compared to the original film. Are you hoping for better this go around?
