Christopher McQuarrie and Henry Cavill are a match made in heaven. Seriously. Mission Impossible: Fallout was a massive success and Cavill’s character was praised by viewers. And it seems that McQuarrie would be open for a DC project, if he was asked to be brought on, according to a recent tweet.
“They still know where to find me.” – McQuarrie answered one Twitter user, while responding to another, “if they ever call me, I’ll call you.”

McQuarrie then went on to say [in regards to working with Cavill again]:
“That’s really what it is. I mean, when Man of Steel came up, it was because somebody had asked me, did I want to work with Henry again? Which I would in a second. I go through the door that opens,” McQuarrie told Collider, “We had a lot of time hanging out on set, and Henry’s a huge fan of Superman. I can’t help but talk story to people, so he told me his take on Superman and I thought it was really great, and I gave him my two cents.”
With Cavill’s fate in the DCEU uncertain, we’re not sure this mashup would ever happen, but we can only hope that McQuarrie and Cavill work together again. And who knows, maybe Warner Bros. will finally give us the Man of Steel sequel we’ve been asking for years for.
