Fall television doesn’t work quite like it used to.
There was once a fairly predictable moment every September when the broadcast networks rolled out dozens of new shows at the same time. Streaming has destroyed that calendar, but it certainly hasn’t killed the idea of fall TV.
If anything, September through November 2026 is ridiculously crowded.
ScreenRant recently previewed dozens of new and returning series heading our way, but some projects associated with broader 2026 television coverage don’t actually belong in the fall window. For this list, we’re tightening things considerably.
Every show below currently has a specific premiere date between September and November 2026. No 2027 releases. No projects simply listed as “coming soon.” No series with vague production windows being treated as though they’re arriving next month.
From Marvel and Middle-earth to Stephen King, Friday the 13th, Blade Runner and a pair of longtime friends named Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, here are the 20 television shows we’re most excited to watch during the remainder of fall 2026.

20. Chad Powers Season 2

Glen Powell is putting the wig and prosthetics back on as disgraced quarterback Russ Holliday continues pretending to be the fictional Chad Powers.
The first season took a joke originally created during Eli Manning’s ESPN appearance and somehow stretched it into an actual sports comedy with a surprising amount of heart. Season 2 can now spend less time establishing the ridiculous concept and more time testing how long Russ can possibly maintain the deception before everything collapses around him.
Powell’s willingness to completely commit to the stupidity remains the show’s greatest weapon.
19. The Paper Season 2
Premiere Date: September 9, 2026
Where To Watch: Peacock
The documentary crew that once followed Dunder Mifflin is back with the employees of the Toledo Truth Teller.
The Paper faced a difficult challenge during its first season. It had to establish itself inside The Office universe without turning into a collection of references to Michael Scott, Dwight Schrute and Jim Halpert.
Season 2 arrives with Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei and much of the newspaper staff returning as the struggling publication attempts to build on some unexpected success.
Now that the introductions are finished, this is where The Paper gets the opportunity to establish its own identity.
18. A Different World
Premiere Date: September 24, 2026
Where To Watch: Netflix
Hillman College is welcoming another generation.
Netflix’s continuation of A Different World centers on Deborah Wayne, the daughter of Dwayne Wayne and Whitley Gilbert, as she begins her own college experience.
Maleah Joi Moon leads the new generation, while familiar faces from the original series help connect the revival to one of television’s most influential Black sitcoms.
The smartest possible version of this show won’t simply recreate college life from the late 1980s. It will use Hillman to explore what that experience looks like for students entering adulthood in 2026.
17. American Horror Story Season 13
Premiere Date: September 24, 2026

There may not be a television franchise better suited to celebrating its 13th season.
American Horror Story is bringing back an enormous collection of familiar faces, including Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett and Emma Roberts.
The franchise has always been wildly inconsistent, sometimes within individual seasons, but that’s also part of what makes a new installment interesting. You never quite know whether you’re about to get one of its best nightmares or something completely insane.
Season 13 appears especially interested in the franchise’s own history, making this feel closer to an event season than another routine anthology reset.
16. The Good Daughter
Premiere Date: November 12, 2026
Where To Watch: Peacock
Rose Byrne and Meghann Fahy headline Peacock’s adaptation of Karin Slaughter’s thriller.
The limited series follows sisters Charlotte and Samantha Quinn, whose lives were shattered by violence two decades earlier. When another attack forces the past back into their lives, the family must confront everything they’ve spent years trying to survive.
Slaughter’s novels frequently combine mystery with uncomfortable family trauma, and Byrne and Fahy give the adaptation two extremely strong performers at its center.
This could easily become one of fall’s quieter breakout thrillers.
15. The Diplomat Season 4
Premiere Date: October 15, 2026
Where To Watch: Netflix
International diplomacy would probably be much easier if Kate and Hal Wyler weren’t involved.
Thankfully, it wouldn’t be nearly as entertaining.
Keri Russell and Rufus Sewell return for another season of Netflix’s political drama, with Allison Janney and Bradley Whitford continuing to play major roles after dramatically expanding the show’s political battlefield.
The Diplomat has always understood that the political crisis and the marriage crisis should be equally dangerous. The better Kate becomes at navigating international power, the more complicated her personal life seems to get.
That balance has turned the series into one of Netflix’s strongest returning dramas.
14. MobLand Season 2
Premiere Date: September 18, 2026
Where To Watch: Paramount+
Tom Hardy is heading back into the increasingly violent world of MobLand.
The crime drama established an impressive ensemble built around Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren, combining family warfare with the larger machinery of organized crime.
A second season gives the series the chance to expand beyond the initial conflict while showing what happens after characters who have spent their entire lives accumulating power suddenly discover how fragile that power can be.
Hardy remains the main attraction, but the surrounding cast is what gives MobLand the potential to grow into a much larger crime saga.
13. Brothers
Premiere Date: September 23, 2026
Where To Watch: Apple TV
Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson playing fictional versions of themselves who discover they might actually be brothers sounds like something someone came up with after a very long night.
Apple somehow turned it into a television series.
The eight-episode comedy sends Harrelson and his family to McConaughey’s Texas ranch after a family crisis, only for Holland Taylor’s character to reveal a decades-old secret suggesting the longtime friends may share considerably more than friendship.
McConaughey and Harrelson already have tremendous chemistry. Watching them weaponize their own public personas could make Brothers one of the strangest comedies of the year.
12. The Gentlemen Season 2
Premiere Date: September 3, 2026
Where To Watch: Netflix
Guy Ritchie’s criminal playground is getting bigger.
Theo James and Kaya Scodelario return as Eddie Horniman and Susie Glass, with the second season expanding beyond the British criminal empire established during the first run.
The series worked because it captured the swagger, violence and black humor of Ritchie’s gangster films while giving its criminal ecosystem enough time to develop across multiple episodes.
Season 2 takes the operation into new territory and introduces another sizable collection of criminals, opportunists and people who probably shouldn’t trust one another.
That’s exactly where a Guy Ritchie television series should live.
11. Neagley
Premiere Date: September 16, 2026
Where To Watch: Prime Video
Frances Neagley doesn’t need Jack Reacher to solve a problem.
Maria Sten’s fan-favorite character gets her own series after repeatedly proving to be one of the strongest pieces of Prime Video’s Reacher universe.
The spinoff follows Neagley into a new investigation centered in Chicago, providing an opportunity to explore a character whose methods and personality are very different from Reacher’s even if they share much of the same history.
Alan Ritchson is still able to provide connective tissue, but the important question is whether Neagley can carry an entire series without standing next to the franchise’s six-foot-five human battering ram.
We’re betting she can.
10. Slow Horses Season 6
Premiere Date: September 16, 2026
Where To Watch: Apple TV
Most television series would struggle to maintain quality while releasing seasons this regularly.
Slow Horses somehow keeps doing it.
Gary Oldman’s Jackson Lamb returns alongside Jack Lowden, Kristin Scott Thomas, Saskia Reeves and the rest of Slough House as the disgraced agents become trapped inside another dangerous intelligence operation.
Season 6 draws from Mick Herron’s Joe Country and Slough House, with the team placed on the run while Diana Taverner pulls them into a deadly game involving retaliation and revenge.
Few shows mix espionage, dark comedy and workplace misery this well.
9. East Of Eden

Florence Pugh leads Netflix’s ambitious new adaptation of John Steinbeck’s East of Eden.
Zoe Kazan serves as a driving creative force behind the seven-episode limited series, creating a fascinating connection to her grandfather Elia Kazan, who directed the famous 1955 adaptation starring James Dean.
This version has something a feature film never could: time.
Pugh plays Cathy Ames alongside Christopher Abbott, Mike Faist, Hoon Lee, Tracy Letts, Martha Plimpton and Ciarán Hinds.
If the series takes full advantage of its expanded running time, it could finally bring substantially more of Steinbeck’s enormous family saga to the screen.
8. The Terminal List Season 2
Premiere Date: October 21, 2026
Where To Watch: Prime Video
Chris Pratt’s James Reece is finally returning.
Nearly five years after the first season, The Terminal List shifts from revenge thriller toward international espionage with an adaptation drawing from Jack Carr’s True Believer.
Reece becomes caught in a conspiracy stretching from Moscow to Langley while discovering connections to his own family history.
The expanded scale should help distinguish Season 2 from the original run instead of simply giving Reece another collection of names to cross off a list.
All eight episodes arrive October 21.
7. Avatar: Seven Havens
Premiere Date: October 9, 2026
Where To Watch: Paramount+
For the first time, the animated Avatar story is truly moving beyond Aang and Korra.
Avatar: Seven Havens introduces Pavi, a young Earthbender who discovers she is the next Avatar after Korra.
There’s a problem.
In this devastated version of the world, being the Avatar doesn’t make Pavi humanity’s savior. It makes her someone people believe could destroy what remains of civilization.
Creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko return for a series consisting of 26 episodes divided between two books.
The Avatar cycle was always designed to continue from generation to generation. Now we finally get to see what another major jump forward looks like.
6. Percy Jackson And The Olympians Season 3
Premiere Date: November 20, 2026
Where To Watch: Disney+
Things get considerably darker for Percy Jackson this season.
Season 3 adapts Rick Riordan’s The Titan’s Curse, beginning after Annabeth is captured by the forces of Kronos.
Percy must embark on another dangerous quest alongside familiar allies and some important newcomers while the larger conflict involving Kronos moves closer to outright war.
The third book is where the original series dramatically expands its mythology, particularly through the Hunters of Artemis, new demigods and a prophecy that begins pointing toward Percy’s eventual destiny.
Disney+ has officially set the new season for November 20.
5. The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power Season 3
Premiere Date: November 11, 2026
Where To Watch: Prime Video
Middle-earth is heading toward war.
Season 3 jumps several years beyond the previous season and pushes the story deeper into the conflict surrounding Sauron’s attempt to dominate Middle-earth.
Charlie Vickers returns as Sauron alongside Morfydd Clark’s Galadriel, Robert Aramayo’s Elrond and the sprawling ensemble, while the expanding cast introduces additional figures from Tolkien’s Second Age.
The first four episodes arrive together on November 11.
Whatever anyone thinks about the series’ interpretation of Tolkien, there is no denying the sheer scale of the production. Season 3 is where many of the storylines established since the premiere should finally begin colliding.
4. Carrie
Premiere Date: October 7, 2026
Where To Watch: Prime Video
Another adaptation of Stephen King’s Carrie might normally inspire a fairly simple question.
Why?
Mike Flanagan is the answer.
The filmmaker behind The Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass and Doctor Sleep gets an entire limited series to explore Carrie White rather than compressing her story into another two-hour movie.
Summer H. Howell plays Carrie, with Samantha Sloyan taking on Margaret White and Matthew Lillard among the supporting cast.
Flanagan’s best horror stories understand that the tragedy is usually more important than the monster. Few Stephen King characters are more tragic than Carrie White.
3. Crystal Lake
Premiere Date: October 15, 2026
Where To Watch: Peacock
Before Jason Voorhees became one of horror’s most recognizable killers, there was Pamela Voorhees.
A24 and Peacock’s Crystal Lake goes back into the mythology of Friday the 13th, with Linda Cardellini playing Jason’s mother.
That alone makes the project more interesting than simply creating another eight hours of Jason walking around the woods with a machete.
Pamela was the original film’s killer, and her grief over Jason created the entire nightmare that followed.
If the series treats her as an actual tragic character before transforming her into something terrifying, Crystal Lake could add real depth to a franchise that has rarely been accused of psychological subtlety.
2. Blade Runner 2099
Premiere Date: November 25, 2026
Where To Watch: Prime Video
Few cinematic universes are more dangerous to expand than Blade Runner.
Ridley Scott’s original and Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049 established an extraordinarily specific mixture of science fiction, noir and existential dread.
Blade Runner 2099 jumps 50 years beyond Villeneuve’s sequel and turns that world into an eight-episode limited series.
Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer lead the cast, with Silka Luisa serving as showrunner and Scott executive producing.
The series has enough distance from the previous films to introduce a completely different version of this world while still exploring the question sitting underneath the entire franchise: what actually makes someone human?
All eight episodes arrive November 25.
1. VisionQuest
Premiere Date: October 14, 2026
Where To Watch: Disney+
Marvel has left White Vision flying around somewhere in the MCU since 2021.
We’re finally getting answers.
Paul Bettany returns in VisionQuest, which Marvel officially describes as the final installment in the trilogy that began with WandaVision and continued through Agatha All Along.
Vision has regained his memories, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he understands who he is.
The series becomes even more intriguing with James Spader returning as Ultron and Ruaridh Mollica playing Thomas Shepard, a mysterious young man who may be Vision’s son reincarnated.
That immediately reconnects the story to the Maximoff family.
Billy has returned. Tommy is entering the picture. Vision is searching for his identity.
And Wanda remains absent.
Those ingredients would already make VisionQuest one of fall’s most important Marvel projects, but Terry Matalas serving as showrunner makes the series even more promising after his work on Star Trek: Picard.
Marvel’s Disney+ era has produced mixed results, but the WandaVision corner of the MCU has consistently been one of its strangest and most character-driven.
If VisionQuest sticks the landing, it could close that trilogy while simultaneously opening the door to the next major chapter for Wanda, Billy, Tommy and Vision.
Horror Is Having An Enormous Fall
One of the strongest trends across the remaining schedule is impossible to miss.
October belongs to horror.
Mike Flanagan’s Carrie arrives October 7. VisionQuest brings Ultron back October 14. Crystal Lake opens its doors October 15, while American Horror Story will already be underway after returning in September.
The most interesting part is how different those projects are.
Carrie is psychological tragedy. Crystal Lake is franchise horror. American Horror Story is embracing its own long-running mythology.
Anyone looking for something appropriately dark around Halloween shouldn’t have much trouble finding it.
Franchise Television Isn’t Slowing Down
The other obvious story is the continued expansion of major fictional universes.
Neagley expands Reacher. Seven Havens pushes Avatar beyond Korra. Crystal Lake goes backward into Friday the 13th. Blade Runner 2099 jumps decades beyond Blade Runner 2049.
VisionQuest continues the WandaVision story, while Percy Jackson and The Rings of Power continue adapting enormous fantasy mythologies.
That can become exhausting when recognizable titles are the only thing a project has going for it.
Several of these shows, however, have found genuinely interesting ways to expand their worlds rather than simply repeating what came before.
Fall 2026 Still Has Plenty To Watch
The television calendar is crowded enough that even a list of 20 inevitably leaves interesting shows behind.
That’s why this ranking shouldn’t be viewed as an attempt to predict the 20 best-reviewed shows months in advance.
It’s a watchlist.
Some of the year’s biggest surprises will inevitably come from shows nobody currently has ranked near the top. Others carrying enormous expectations may disappoint.
But from September through Thanksgiving, television fans have an unusually broad collection of crime, comedy, horror, fantasy, science fiction and superhero stories heading their way.
And unlike some of the projects that have been floating around 2026 preview lists, these actually have dates on the calendar.
