Movie Review: 68 Kill

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”25809″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]68 Kill is a trailer park love story. With the side of murder.

This 2017 movie stars Matthew Gray Gubler, AnnaLynne McCord, and Alisha Boe. In 68 Kill, Gubler plays the love-struck Chip who is involved in a turbulent, toxic relationship with McCord’s crazed Liza. Practically unhinged, Liza convinces her pseudo-pushover boyfriend to rob the man who pays her for sex. Unbeknownst to Chip, Liza intends to kill the man and his wife before robbing him.

Things go from bad to worse when Boe’s Violet discovers the bodies. Liza has Chip bring Violet to Liza’s serial killer brother, who gets off on butchering women. Even though Chip will do virtually anything Liza demands, he has a limit. So, he takes Violet and the money and speeds away. Which, causes Liza to chase after him and everything goes downhill from there.

68 Kill is described as a dark comedy. This is in part due to Chip being thrown into situations he clearly isn’t cut out for. Needless to say, he doesn’t have the best luck with women. Even Violet, who helps him realize he needs to stand up for himself; doesn’t last long in his life. And this leads him to be confronted by some really warped people. The poor guy, honestly.

Be forewarned, going into this movie; that there are some pretty gruesome and graphic violent scenes. Especially in regards to Liza’s brother and the group of psychopaths who grab Chip.

Other than that, I found the movie a lot of fun. From Chip’s bad luck, to Liza’s insanity. It was an adventure and there was never a dull moment. If you’re looking for ridiculousness, bad romance, and a lot of gunplay, check out 68 Kill.
