Movie Review: ‘MILE 22’

Synopsis: CIA operative James Silva leads a small but lethal paramilitary team on an urgent and dangerous mission. They must transport a foreign intelligence asset from an American embassy in Southeast Asia to an airfield for extraction ‑‑ a distance of 22 miles.

Mile 22 is one of those films that absolutely annoys me. With all the jump cuts with every action scene. The only reason why I wanted to watch Mile 22 is because of Iko Uwais, which he was great in his role, and his fight choreography is amazing as always. The editing just makes it look bad.

You have Mark Wahlberg playing himself, which I love. The dialogue was very fast paced and I could barley understand anyone. It seemed like the characters all had anger management issues, which isn’t a very big deal; but it does get annoying at times.

I had very low expectations with this film minus Iko Uwais and Mark and sadly it was even worse than I thought. 4.5/10

Mile 22 is out now and stars Mark Wahlberg, Lauren Cohan and Ronda Rousey.
