Hello Again everyone, I thought I would make a very special article that peeks my own opinion on Izuku Midoriya aka Deku, one of the Main Protagonists of the Superhero franchise My Hero Academia!

After reading some chapters and watching the Anime, It has me believe that Izuku could in fact be the first Anime Superhero in-Training who has High-Functioning Autisim.

So here are my guesses and opinoins regarding and describing his Personality..

    • Hero Special Interest/Subcategory: All Might special interest meltdowns where he hits himself and cries (All Might is huge help during these, more on this later.)
    • Stims include: rocking, working out, muttering, watching heroes, interactions with girls and others
    •  Hyper-empathy!
    • Good With Patterns!
    • Bad with unexpected touches
    • Bullied since childhood (also because he was born without powers)
    • Strong sense of right vs wrong, bad with the grey areas, Awkward in social situations!
    • Clothing is somtimes often mismatched or worn wrong
    • Becomes Inspired and Encouraged by the Good People in his life
    • writes Notebooks about His Favorite Heroes, including notes about his Classmates, special traits and Quirks

Izuku also acts nervous socially with others from the start, and is Awkwardly shy talking to Girls (mainly love interest Ochako Uraraka for example) but slowly accepts these new changes.

Makes me believe Kohei Horikoshi made Izuku a Very Special Hero who always has Heart, needs support and Never gives up on his Dreams and Friends no matter how many times he loses focus or loses some battles.

I would love to wish Kohei Horikoshi (if he reads this too) the best of Luck with what he’ll do next for these Amazing Characters….

Remember this is only my opinion and guesses.

What are your thoughts on this?

I really enjoy your enthusiasm, and I think it is a good theory, but as someone with autism, I believe that that is just the way the character was made. Now some of his traits may seem autistic, that in turn does not make him autistic. Maybe you can look up what stimming is first pls. I love ppl taking an interest in autism, but not when ppl are claiming that quirky characters who are created to act that way, it isnt fun. While yes, he has some autistic traits, most ppl do, but it doesnt make him autistic. He is a fun character, and though it may seem that way, it isnt. No disrespect whatsoever! I love this text, but it just isnt realistic.

    Lots of love, Li

Loved this, it definitely pointed out some more viewpoints that I hadn’t noticed. I think it could totally be possible, but likely will never be made to be canon. Super fun headcanon though I love reading fanfics with autistic Izuku Midoryia. :3xx
