Persimmon will be premiering Aaron Sherry’s mysterious family drama Captain Tsunami on VOD and Digital on April 23, 2026. This moving and compelling directorial debut stars Madeline McGraw, P.J. Marino, Craig Frank, Tessa Munro, Archie Kao, and Jeremy Sisto. The film was selected as the closing night film at the 2025 Dances With Films festival.
Writer and star PJ Marino shared these insights about the forthcoming feature: “I grew up watching Saturday morning superhero cartoons, and thus, Captain Tsunami began as a surreal adventure. After meeting Madeleine McGraw on a commercial shoot, and seeing her deep well of emotions on display, I began writing a grounded drama in which she could flaunt her amazing chops. Our brilliant production team combined both worlds to meld it into a gripping mystery filled with comic book art, dream sequences, and offbeat humor. I can’t wait for everyone to see this amazing cast flawlessly execute it.”
GVN has been provided with an exclusive trailer from the new film ahead of its debut, which you can find below:
Synopsis: Quiet comic shop owner Glenn’s life is upended when twelve-year-old Emma appears at his door carrying artwork left by her missing mother, the woman Glenn once loved.
