[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”30980″ img_size=”800×450″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Neill Blomkamp is the man behind District 9 and Chappie, now we can expect him to develop a new project – Inferno. This upcoming sci-fi thriller will be for Stuart Ford’s AGC Studios banner.
Blomkamp even has a star already lined up. Taylor Kitsch from True Detective will play a cop investigating a run-of-the-mill murder in New Mexico when suddenly the FBI shows up. Something big is happening. Something…extraterrestrial. It’s a Blomkamp movie, you knew there’d be something alien-y involved. Because Kitsch’s character will be knee-deep in the investigation, he will be face-to-face with a humanoid beast who is looking to tear down the witness to the killing.
Expect production to begin in early 2020.
The filmmaker had previously stated about Inferno:
“I am very excited to be getting behind the camera and making Inferno with AGC. The film is filled with themes and concepts that I find deeply fascinating, I feel lucky to be shooting it.”
Ford has also expressed his excitement in working with Blomkamp:
“Over the last decade, Neill Blomkamp has proven himself to be one of the most innovative creators of science fiction cinema in the world and I’m convinced that Inferno is going to break new ground and take Neill’s body of work to even greater heights.”
Are you excited about Kitsch’s role in Inferno?
