We are only a few days away from Narcos: Mexico’s finale season’s premiere on Netflix, but a new rumor is hinting that we haven’t seen the last of the Narcos franchise. The original Narcos series lasted for three seasons on the streaming platform, with the spin-off centered in Mexico also finishing out with three seasons. According to the Illuminerdi (who have always been pretty spot-on with their rumors), Netflix is planning another Narcos spin-off under the working title Emerald. While most seasons of the Narcos franchise have centered around the men in the drug trafficking world, this spin-off would center on Griselda Blanco. It also seems that Netflix is currently negotiating with Sofia Vergara to play the infamous drug lord.
Griselda Blanco would be an interesting character to follow. She was around before Pablo Escobar and was known by many nicknames – one being the Black Widow. This is because she literally ordered the death of her three husbands.
This is just a rumor now, but as a fan of the Narcos franchise, I would be completely open to more Narcos. In the meantime, the third and final season of Narcos: Mexico will hit Netflix on November 5th.
