Ryan Murphy and Jason Blum are combining forces to work on a Netflix adaptation of legendary Stephen King’s short story Mr. Harrigan’s Phone.
Mr. Harrigan’s Phone is the story of a young boy who goes on to befriend an older billionaire from his small-town. The two bond over the man’s first iPhone. Go figure, right? This is where King really goes back to his roots (I mean he’s had stories about killer dogs, cars, etc.). When the man dies, the boy discovers that he is still able to communicate with his friend by leaving voicemails on the iPhone – that was buried with the man.
John Lee Hancock will write and direct the project, while Carla Hacken will produce alongside Murphy and Blum.
What do you think about King’s Mr. Harrigan’s Phone being adapted for Netflix?
