Netflix revolutionized how we watch TV and ushered in the era of “binge-watching”. While other streaming platforms release some content on a week to week basis, Netflix always releases all of its episodes at once. Now, though; Netflix will be releasing the seventh season of The Great British Baking Show on a weekly basis. This has led fans to speculate that the streaming giant is abandoning its usual format. A speculation that Netflix was quick to debunk.
Along with The Great British Baking Show, hip hop reality series Rhythm & Flow will also be on a weekly basis. It isn’t far-fetched that Netflix would change up their strategies for certain programs. When you have a show like Stranger Things or Mindhunter, it’s smart to release it all at once. But, with reality or competition shows, it makes sense as to why they would release the episodes on a weekly basis.
What do you think about Netflix changing up their strategy?
