Netflix Release ‘Narcos’ Season Four Trailer

Netflix’s Narcos just released a new teaser trailer for their upcoming fourth season. In my humble opinion, the first two were the best. Starring Boyd Holbrook (The Predator, Logan) and Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones, Wonder Woman 1984), Narcos followed the true story of detectives Stephen Murphy and Javier Pena as they traveled down to Columbia to put an end to the king of drug trafficking, Pablo Escobar. Masterfully portrayed by Wagner Moura, Moura’s performance as Escobar really tied everything together and we saw in the third season how weak the show was without him. While Pascal is a good actor, his partnership with Holbrook’s Murphy was missed; Narcos was also known for really attempting to stay true to history, with footage and pictures from the real-life horror that happened during Escobar’s terror. The third season really didn’t have a concrete true storyline to hold onto and therefore, fell short.

Narcos season four looks to start over completely. First, it does not take place in Columbia like the previous three seasons. Now in Mexico, Michael Pena and Diego Luna will helm the series. Pena is best known currently for his role in the Ant-Man franchise, but honestly, the man has such a long filmography, he needs more recognition than he gets. Luna is best known for Rogue One, a Star Wars Story.

Pena plays Kiki Camarena, which if you’ve seen the first season of Narcos, you know via Steve Murphy’s explanation that the reason why the cartel doesn’t go for government officials like themselves is because of what happened to Kiki in Mexico. So, we already pretty much know his fate. Luna will play Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo, the cartel’s patriarch. This season will explore the rise of the Guadalajara cartel; so if they follow the format the first two seasons had with real-life timelines and pictures/film, I think the fourth season will be very successful.

Check out the trailer and let us know what you think.
