IGN has released an exclusive trailer for Batman: The Long Halloween, Part 1 from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and DC. This adaptation of the classic 13-issue 1996 graphic novel finds Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles debuting as the voice of the caped crusader after facing off against him as the titular villain in Batman: Under the Red Hood. The film reunites Superman: Man of Tomorrow writer Tim Sheridan and director Chris Palmer.
Part One of Batman: The Long Halloween is set to debut Summer 2021 with the conclusion to follow at some point in Fall 2021.
Synopsis: Batman: The Long Halloween Part One begins as a brutal murder on Halloween prompts Gotham’s young vigilante, the Batman, to form a pact with the city’s only two uncorrupt lawmen (Police Captain James Gordan and District Attorney Harvey Dent) in order to take down The Roman, head of the notorious and powerful Falcone Crime Family. But when more deaths occur on Thanksgiving and Christmas, it becomes clear that, instead of ordinary gang violence, they’re also dealing with a serial killer – the identity of whom, with each conflicting clue, grows harder to discern. Few cases have ever tested the wits of the World’s Greatest Detective like the mystery behind the Holiday Killer.
The cast for Part One is as follows:
- Jensen Ackles as Batman
- Naya Rivera as Catwoman
- Josh Duhamel as Two-Face
- Billy Burke as James Gordon
