CBS Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment have announced that they will be bringing the newest iteration of The Stand to Blu-Ray on October 5, 2021. Based on Stephen King’s best-selling novel, The Stand tells the story of Mother Abagail (Whoopi Goldberg), Stu Redman (James Marsden), Frannie Goldsmith (Odessa Young), and a handful of survivors navigate through life post-pandemic. Their journey takes a turn when the evil “Dark Man” Randall Flagg (Alexander Skarsgård) tries to construct a new civilization based on destruction, power, and torture. Additionally, The Stand 2-Pack, which includes the original Emmy Award® winning 1994 miniseries as well as the 2020 Adaptation, will also be available on Blu-ray and DVD on October 5.

Also arriving on October 5, the CBS series Clarice will release its first season on DVD. The show follows FBI Special Agent Clarice Starling (Rebecca Breeds) as she returns to the field one year after her encounter with notorious serial killer Buffalo Bill, as described in The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris.

Synopsis: THE STAND is Stephen King’s apocalyptic vision of a world decimated by plague and embroiled in an elemental struggle between good and evil. The fate of mankind rests on the frail shoulders of the 108-year-old Mother Abagail and a handful of survivors. Their worst nightmares are embodied in a man with a lethal smile and unspeakable powers: Randall Flagg, the Dark Man. Based on Stephen King’s best-selling novel of the same name, CBS All Access’ THE STAND will close with a new coda written by the famed author himself.
