The series that is led by Ryan Eggold in inspired by a memoir written by Dr. Eric Manheimer and tells the tale of a doctor looking to do good in a world where health insurance determines someone’s eligibility for good healthcare.
In a statement by NBC co-presidents Lisa Katz and Tacey Pakosta, they expressed:
“We’ve been so excited to see how much audiences have embraced Dr. Max Goodwin and all the characters that make ‘New Amsterdam’ such an incredibly compelling medical series. Congratulations to David Schulner, Peter Horton, our writers and an amazing cast and crew who have brought these stories to life.”
