July stands to be a tough month for Netflix. Not because its incoming slate looks dry – no matter your taste, is it ever? – but because the streamer’s June lineup featured its buzziest (and best) original title of the year so far, Richard Linklater’s Hit Man. Starring Glen Powell as a fake contract killer who breaks his protocol as a part-time undercover cop when he falls for one of his potential “clients” (Adria Arjona), the comedy was a smash hit, reportedly clocking 1.5 billion minutes watched in just its first seven days on Netflix. Of course, the service’s tracking data is more of a construct than a definite measurement, but take it from someone who has yet to tire of Linklater’s latest: I’d spend 1.5 billion minutes watching Hit Man if I had all the time in the world.

Netflix will be banking on Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, the fourth installment in Eddie Murphy’s comedy franchise that seemed to have concluded with 1994’s Beverly Hills Cop III, to reach a similar audience when it hits the catalog on July 3. Other notable titles include Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy (July 1); the ninth and final season of Suits (July 1); and part one of Cobra Kai’s sixth season (July 18). Keep on scrolling to see the list of everything that’s set to hit Netflix this month below.
