Ghostbusters returned to the big screen in 2016 with an all-female cast (except for Chris Hemsworth) consisting of Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. Now, it seems that we’re going to be getting another in the franchise, but with the original cast, albeit without the late Harold Ramis.

Ghostbusters first came out in 1984 and had its sequel hit theaters in 1989 with a cast consisting of Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver, Ernie Hudson, Rick Moranis, and Harold Ramis. According to Aykroyd himself, a new script is being written and that there is a “possibility of a reunion with the three remaining Ghostbusters”, which would consist of himself, Murray, and Hudson.

Bill Murray had previously not committed to the 2016 film, which Aykroyd had cameoed in. When asked if Murray would join, the actor commented:

“I think Billy will come. The story’s so good. Even if he plays a ghost.”

This is all speculation, but for fans of the original Ghostbusters; this could be the news they have been waiting to hear for the last 30 years. Are you wanting a new Ghostbusters? Let us know!
