Detective Pikachu was a fun and visually appealing movie that reignited people’s excitement for the Pokemon franchise.
Now, according to Daniel Ritchman’s Patreon page, it seems like there will be another live-action Pokemon film in the future at Legendary Pictures. Ritchman expresses that this upcoming Pokemon film might not be a sequel to Ryan Reynolds’ Detective Pikachu. It is a rumor right now that the studio is considering making a Red/Blue movie. It will be set in the same universe as Detective Pikachu.

Again, this is just a rumor, but it would certainly be interesting. The box office didn’t necessarily reflect the film’s success, but Detective Pikachu was impressive in the sense that the Pokemon looked great. And Reynolds is always spot on.
