By now, you’ve heard us talk about the news about the Whisperers, about two of the shows’ stars leaving, and the two year time jump. Clearly, not everything is great in paradise, as we see in a new trailer. From new footage compiled together, it seems that the leaders in TWD are going to butt heads. Rick and Maggie’s relationship is already strained from the season 8 finale, which didn’t end with Rick killing Negan, the man who savagely beat Maggie’s husband Glenn to a bloody pulp.
When asked if the upcoming tension between Rick, Maggie, and Daryl could be a throwback to the tensions that rose between Rick and Shane, actor Andrew Lincoln confirmed:
“Without a doubt. I think there were a lot of the pilot episode that was reminiscent of this opening episode and also a couple of other episodes, too. We have a few surprises as we both know but we’re not allowed to talk about.”
