Stein. In fact it was pretty much thought that Black would not be part of the sequel. It appears those assumptions were incorrect as the new TV ad titled “Old Friend” (above) showed.
Those of you who saw the first Goosebumps will remember at the end of the previous film, Stine found out the only monster that had evaded recapture was Brent Green (also played by Black). Green was the antagonist from his book My Best Friend Is Invisible, and Stein was attacked by the character. It was not revealed however how Stine managed to defeat Brent and possibly trap him again. Perhaps that may be explained in the sequel. In the meantime, if Stein’s reappearance is any indication, we may be seeing R.L Stein confronting his creations once more. Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween makes its way to theaters on October 12th.
