Nicholas Galitzine, known for his roles in various royal-themed productions, has been cast as the lead in the upcoming Masters of the Universe film, set to hit screens on June 5, 2026. This announcement marks a significant step forward for a project that has faced numerous setbacks and delays. Galitzine’s portrayal of He-Man promises to inject new life into the iconic character.

Despite previous failed attempts, including the cancellation of a Netflix project after a substantial investment, the team behind this adaptation is determined to bring the beloved franchise to the big screen. Directed by Travis Knight and scripted by Chris Butler, the film aims to capture the essence of Eternia and its heroic defender.

Galitzine’s previous experience in portraying royalty, albeit in different contexts, adds depth to his casting as He-Man. From his role as Prince Robert in Cinderella to Prince Henry in “Red, White & Royal Blue,” he has demonstrated his ability to embody regal characters with charm and charisma.

Julie Rapaport, head of film production and development at Amazon MGM Studios, expressed her excitement about Galitzine’s casting, emphasizing the film’s potential to captivate audiences. With Galitzine’s talent and the creative team’s vision, “Masters of the Universe” is poised to be an epic adventure that will delight fans both old and new.
