[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”5764″ img_size=”620×285″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]For all the horror/zombie fans out there, you’ll be happy to know that Night of the Living Dead will return to theaters for a two-night event in order to celebrate its 50th anniversary. Fathom Events will be hosting the showing and a 4k restored version of the film will be hitting the big screen. George A. Romero has been praised as essentially the godfather of zombie films, bringing the lore to life and popularizing the genre. Romero’s work has been referenced, redone, and inspired many, many tv shows and films ever since. You can see his influence in such shows as The Walking Dead and iZombie, where certain zombies are even referred as “Romeros”.

According to the press release, these are the details of the return to the big screen:

“On Wednesday, October 24th, and Thursday, October 25th, only, Night of the Living Dead returns to nearly 600 movie theatres nationwide in a newly restored and remastered version presented by Fathom Events, Image Ten Inc. and Living Dead Media, in association with Janus Films and the Criterion Collection. Night of the Living Dead will play at 7 pm and 10 pm (local time) both days, presented through Fathom’s Digital Broadcast Network (DBN). Commemorating its 50th anniversary, Night of the Living Dead will be accompanied by a new behind-the-scenes look at the making of this iconic film. Tickets for Night of the Living Dead are available beginning today at www.FathomEvents.com and participating theater box offices. A complete list of theater locations can be found on the Fathom Events website (theaters and participants are subject to change).”

Be sure to keep an eye on the film’s Facebook page for updates!
