Can you imagine what a Dora the Explorer movie would look like if it was done by Michael Bay? Suddenly the childhood cartoon icon would be running through the jungle with explosions everywhere, trying to elude the villainous Swiper, and maybe a Transformer or two would show up. In an article by The Hollywood Reporter, the rumor of a live-action Dora the Explorer film being completed through a Michael Bay production company began. We then all speculated what something like this strange combination would look like; likely not anything that we’d expect from a cartoon character that helped teach children.
In a recent tweet, Michael Bay has made it very clear that he has no involvement in the upcoming movie. Instead, the Dora the Explorer movie will be produced by Paramount Players and Nickelodeon. James Bobin will be the director and the project is produced by Kristin Burr. Isabela Moner will play a teenaged version of Dora the Explorer and maybe coincidentally Moner appeared in Michael’s Bay’s Transformers: The Last Knight. It seems that though Bay has denied involvement, we can all have a good chuckle about the Bay-inspired Dora film that’ll never be.
One more time: Bay or Platinum Dunes has nothing to do with the Dora movie. It is being falsely reported in the press. Bay is set to start directing #6underground this week and Platinum Dunes has started developing #AQuietPlace 2. —webmaster pic.twitter.com/8bVYpAsFzZ
