A two-piece Karate Kid-themed box set sits atop a stack of assorted DVD and Blu-ray movie cases arranged in front of a blue background.

We at GVN aim to keep you informed of the newest and best in the world of physical media. Over on our YouTube Channel, you can find us talking about everything you need to know on No Streaming Required, our weekly guide to all the latest 4K UHD, Blu-Ray, and DVD releases.

For the week of August 26th, we have some incredible releases making their way to our shelves. Read on to get a brief overview of what you should have on your wishlist, then be sure to dive into the full rundown in the video below.

This week, we spotlight the highly anticipated 4K UHD Blu-Ray debut of the beloved Mamoru Hosoda fantasy drama Wolf Children from Shout! Studios and GKIDS. The new SteelBook release available exclusively at Amazon comes remastered in HDR10 with Japanese and English-language options, along with some featurettes. This is not the only family film as Disney releases the live-action box office juggernaut Lilo & Stitch on 4K UHD Blu-Ray SteelBook. The film arrives with Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos audio, and various special features such as deleted scenes, featurettes, and more.

Sony has a major release that we explore in-depth with The Karate Kid 6-Film Ultimate 4K UHD Collection featuring the six existing films in the franchise in Dolby Vision with Dolby Atmos audio and the original theatrical audio tracks. This set is stacked with new special features including never-before-seen deleted scenes and the complete 13-episode The Karate Kid: The Animated Series in standard definition. This lavish set, complete with cool collectibles, is available exclusively at Amazon.

We have some films fresh from theaters including the comedy Friendship from A24 starring Tim Robinson, Kate Mara, and Paul Rudd. The Blu-Ray release comes with special features such as a commentary track, deleted scenes, and a behind-the-scenes featurette. The company also has the disturbing horror film Bring Her Back starring Sally Hawkins from directors Danny and Michael Philippou arriving on 4K UHD Blu-Ray with Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos audio, and a nice selection of special features like a commentary track and deleted scenes.

The fine folks at Lionsgate have a pair of wonderful new releases this month. First, we have the queer cult comedy classic But I’m A Cheerleader hitting 4K UHD Blu-Ray exclusively at Amazon. The release has Dolby Vision, two audio tracks and plenty of special features including a commentary track, interviews, and more. The studio is also bringing Ghoulies Go To College to Blu-Ray for the first time through their Vestron imprint. The release available exclusively through Lionsgate Limited comes with a commentary track and new interviews.

A man holding a book and wearing a cross necklace stands protectively in front of a woman in a dimly lit, cluttered room.

The heroes at Radiance Films continue to deliver quality work with an exciting pair of titles this month. Fans of Japanese cinema can celebrate the Blu-Ray release of the Tokuzo Tanaka samurai drama The Betrayal, derived from an HD transfer provided by Kadokawa. The release comes with select scene commentary and two visual essays. We also have the Spanish drama Los Golfos debuting on Blu-Ray from a 4K restoration of the original, uncensored version of the film. The release comes with interviews, short films, and more.

Warner Bros. presents the western drama The Unholy Trinity fresh from theaters on Blu-Ray. The film starring Pierce Brosnan and Samuel L. Jackson comes with DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio but no special features. The studio leaves us on a spooky note with the 4K UHD Blu-Ray debut of The Conjuring from director James Wan. The original classic starring Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga is presented in HDR10 with DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio and two new retrospective featurettes to go along with the archival material.

This is only a taste of what you can discover on No Streaming Required this week, so be sure to check out the full video below.

NO STREAMING REQUIRED! haha just kidding. Ya know, the age old glass blowing technique the “twist and wire” really applies to this article in the ways of the unholy trinity of the mind. With Karate Kid 6 being rated MELANCHOLIC as a medium speaks to me in slippery telepathic tunnels weaving in and out at STEEP velocities. None of this applies to the common law or the brown smoothing principle. However quoting Guantam Juel’s book on immortality and municipality, “as the crest of the southern sun reached my sweaty brow, all I could think about was the major 2013 bite” is a good way to digest all of this information. With all of the AI written goulash in the media today, it is refreshing to find hand woven articles on non incomprehensible tasks such as watching a movie series with a beloved. My beloved is my pet otter named Ranch who lives in the rafters of my Library. His other favorite place to scurry off to in an unwell hefted manner is my gardens tool shed, where I keep my treasure. At this point were all thinking the same thing, RELEASE THE GRILLED CHEESE CHRONICLES ALONGSIDE THE VESTRON OF OF THE ILL WITHERED MIND. My closure shall be a joke told to me by my uncle’s brother’s only son, “as scary as Hell shall be, the ghoul of man is what is fed to the end of times. And the Witch can find what she thought creation meant to all FRAMED FIENDS.” Murr Wilkonson.
