For the week of February 24th, we have some incredible releases making their way to our shelves. Read on to get a brief overview of what you should have on your wishlist, then be sure to dive into the full rundown in the video below.
This week, we spotlight films fresh from theaters with the 4K UHD Blu-Ray debut of the new Silent Night, Deadly Night from Cineverse, which finds filmmaker Mike P. Nelson reviving the iconic franchise. The release comes in SDR with special features including a retrospective featurette. On the horror front, we also have the 4K UHD Blu-Ray upgrade of the Stephen King adaptation 1408 from Lionsgate, available exclusively at Amazon. The film starring John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson presents both the Theatrical Cut and the Director’s Cut in Dolby Vision with a Dolby Atmos upgrade for the Theatrical Cut. The release comes with a commentary track, featurettes, deleted scenes, and more.
Fans of emotional family stories are treated very well this week, as Music Box Films brings The Summer Book starring Glenn Close, Emily Matthews, and Anders Danielsen Lie to DVD. The release comes with a Q&A, featurettes, and more. Sony has a nice array of releases including the pro-shot Tony Award-winning musical Merrily We Roll Along starring Jonathan Groff, Lindsay Mendez, and Daniel Radcliffe on Blu-Ray. There is also the cult-favorite satire D.E.B.S. with Sara Foster, Meagan Good, Devon Aoki, Jill Ritchie, and Jordana Brewster. The Blu-Ray release comes loaded with special features including two commentary tracks, featurettes, deleted scenes, and more. The studio is also giving a 4K UHD Blu-Ray upgrade to the stand-up film Richard Pryor: Here and Now, presented in Dolby Vision with the original mono.
We head over to the land of boutique releases as the miracle workers at Deaf Crocodile bring a quartet of new titles to our shelves. First up, we have the latest installment of Treasures of Soviet Animation on Blu-Ray with Volume 3: The Short Films of Yuri Norstein, which includes nine of the most acclaimed works from the filmmaker. The release provides a commentary track for every short, a visual essay, and a documentary. We also have an impressive Blu-Ray box set with 3x Teuvo Tulio featuring Cross of Love, Restless Blood and Sensuela. Each film comes with a commentary track to accompany some visual essays.
The label also has the Russian western White Sun of the Desert coming to Blu-Ray from a 2K restoration with a commentary track, a visual essay, and an interview. We get a 4K UHD Blu-Ray for the paranoid thriller noir Krakatit, which unravels the mystery behind a chemist who has invented a proto-nuclear weapon. The 4K restoration is presented in Dolby Vision and includes a commentary track, a visual essay, and an interview.

The heroes at Radiance Films have an impressive slate this month. Fans of Japanese cinema can celebrate the long-awaited release of The Japanese Godfather Trilogy on Blu-Ray from restorations by Toei and special features such as interviews, appreciation pieces, and more. Those who are interested in Greek mythology will want to seek out Iphigenia on Blu-Ray with new and archival interviews.
88 Films takes us to the world of Hong Kong cinema with the action crime outing She Shoots Straight and the wuxia tale Duel to the Death, both on Blu-Ray from a 2K restoration of the Original Camera Negative with the original Cantonese audio and an alternate English dub. Each release contains a commentary track and interviews that fans will love.
