We at GVN aim to keep you informed of the newest and best in the world of physical media. Over on our YouTube Channel, you can find us talking about everything you need to know on No Streaming Required, our weekly guide to all the latest 4K UHD, Blu-Ray, and DVD releases.

For the week of October 15th, we have some incredible releases making their way to our shelves. Read on to get a brief overview of what you should have on your wishlist, then be sure to dive into the full rundown in the video below.

This week we spotlight one of the most exciting releases of the year with the 4K UHD Blu-Ray debut of the Val Lewton double feature I Walked With A Zombie and The Seventh Victim courtesy of The Criterion Collection. This new release features both films newly restored from the Original Camera Negatives in SDR with commentary tracks, podcast excerpts, a visual essay, an archival documentary and more. Vintage horror fans will also celebrate the 4K UHD Blu-Ray release of the silent-era classic The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. This release stems from a 4K restoration in SDR with multiple score options, a commentary track, a documentary, and more.

We also shine a spotlight on multiple television box sets from Warner Bros. on Blu-Ray and DVD. First up, we have The West Wing: The Complete Series on Blu-Ray featuring all 156 episodes from all seven seasons on 28 discs, plus over 20 commentaries, behind-the-scenes featurettes, unaired scenes, gag reels and more. We also have the HBO comedy Veep: The Complete Series on Blu-Ray featuring all 65 episodes from all previously released seven seasons. Elsewhere in the world of television, we have the eagerly anticipated DVD debut of Captain Planet: The Complete Franchise which includes the Captain Planet and the Planeteers animated series in 1990 leading into The New Adventures of Captain Planet. This release includes 113 episodes from the iconic franchise featuring an all-star voiceover cast including Martin Sheen, Meg Ryan, Whoopi Goldberg and LeVar Burton.

We also take a look at the newest from Arrow Video with the 4K UHD Blu-Ray debut of the Halloween anthology favorite Trick ‘R Treat. The new director-approved 4K restoration comes with Dolby Vision and loads of new and archival special features. We also have the release of the epic box set J-Horror Rising on Blu-Ray featuring seven Japanese horror films remastered from the best available elements. This release contains the Shikoku, Isola: Multiple Personality Girl, Inugami, St. John’s Wort, Carved: The Slit-Mouthed Woman, Persona and Noroi: The Curse. The number of new and archival extras available is something to be admired.

Over at Scream Factory, we have the 4K UHD Blu-Ray debut of Land of the Dead from director George A. Romero newly remastered from the Original Camera Negative in Dolby Vision with Dolby Atmos. The set includes the unrated cut in 4K UHD with the theatrical cut on Blu-Ray with all of the previously released special features. We also add to your Halloween watchlist by delving into older Blu-Ray titles including Bones starring Snoop Dogg, the Hammer horror film Paranoiac, the cannibal coming-of-age film Raw, the giant spider feature Eight Legged Freaks, and more.

This is only a taste of what you can discover on No Streaming Required this week, so be sure to check out the full video below.
