We at GVN aim to keep you informed of the newest and best in the world of physical media. Over on our YouTube Channel, you can find us talking about everything you need to know on No Streaming Required, our weekly guide to all the latest 4K UHD, Blu-Ray, and DVD releases.

For the week of October 29th, we have some incredible releases making their way to our shelves. Read on to get a brief overview of what you should have on your wishlist, then be sure to dive into the full rundown in the video below.

This week we spotlight some of the most exciting releases of the year with the 4K UHD Blu-Ray debut of some horror and sci-fi classics. First up from Warner Bros., we have the original A Nightmare on Elm Street hitting 4K UHD with the long-desired Unrated Cut along with the original Theatrical Cut in HDR10 with Dolby Atmos and the original theatrical audio. This release ports over all of the previous supplemental features.

It is always an exciting time when we get the rare Disney catalog title, so this week is extra special with two classics from M. Night Shyamalan hitting 4K UHD Blu-Ray. The Bruce Willis chiller The Sixth Sense ditches the ancient HD master for a new HDR10 presentation with DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio and all of the previous special features. The Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix alien invasion tale Signs likewise gets an uptick with a new HDR10 presentation with DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio and all of the previous supplements. We can only hope Disney continues to dig deeper into their vast catalog next year.

One of the premiere releases of the year is the Columbia Classics 4K UHD Collection: Volume 5 courtesy of Sony. In the newest installment of the fan-favorite series, we get six more classics debuting on 4K UHD with All The King’s Men (1949), On The Waterfront, A Man For All Seasons, Tootsie, The Age of Innocence, and Little Women (2019). All six of these films have been restored in 4K and are presented in Dolby Vision with their original audio options. Five of the six films also come with new Dolby Atmos tracks. The set is loaded with new and archival special features, and the transfers are of the highest quality. To make things even sweeter, the set comes with a bonus 4K UHD disc featuring five silent-era films. This is truly a dream release for collectors.

We have an exciting array of new titles from the Vinegar Syndrome family. Over at Cinematographe, we have the final film from William Castle as Shanks debuts on 4K UHD Blu-Ray courtesy of a 4K restoration from its original 35mm negatives in HDR10. The new release comes with a new audio commentary track, an archival interview with star Marcel Marceau, a visual essay, and more.

The OCN Distribution partner labels have a lot to love starting with a brand-new partner label Magnolia Pictures releasing the gory horror comedy Murder Party from director Jeremy Saulnier. Experience your childhood anew with the ETR Media release of Power Of Grayskull: The Definitive History Of He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe. Fans of Japanese cinema will not want to miss Red Peony Gambler I – III from Film Movement Classics. The label is also re-releasing the Gothic coming-of-age story The Reflecting Skin starring Viggo Mortensen. If you need an extra dose of darkness after that, don’t miss the bleak Australian true crime drama The Snowtown Murders from director Justin Kurzel.

This is only a taste of what you can discover on No Streaming Required this week, so be sure to check out the full video below.
