The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus is teaming back up with AMC Studios to develop a TV show version of Russ Meyer’s cult classic Faster Pussycat, Kill! Kill! The 1965 film is now being brought to the small screen by AMC and Reedus‘ bigbaldhead production company.
The project is still in its early development and has the full backing of Meyer’s estate. The project falls under the two-year first-look deal between Reedus and his banner with AMC that was inked last September. The TV series will pay homage to the original story of badass go-go dancers and such, but it will go further beyond fast cars and “karate kicks”.
Reedus expressed:
“I’ve been watching Russ Meyer’s film since I was a kid, wearing my Faster Pussycat, Kill Kill! shirt to school. It’s safe to say I’m beyond inspired by Russ’ style of filmmaking and I am over the moon excited for the opportunity to reimagine this story for the modern world.”
What’d you think of Faster Pussycat, Kill! Kill! being adapted into a series?
