Olivia Wilde made her directorial debut with 2019’s comedy Booksmart. Now, Wilde is about to get back into the director’s character for the Kerri Strug biopic called Perfect. The film is based on the book Landing On My Feet, A Diary Of Dreams by Strug and John P. Lopez. It focuses on the true tale of the gymnast’s triumph of winning the Team USA’s first gold medal in the 1996 Olympics. People may know Strug from her completion of her final vault on a badly injured ankle and being carried to the podium by her coach.
Best script I’ve ever read. I worked hard to get this gig. This story is unreal. 🤯. I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity to tell it my way. https://t.co/D5ANkLpLdA

Wilde has stated:
“This is a film about what real power looks like. It is an excruciatingly beautiful underdog story that will thrust the audience into the heart of Kerri Strug with unblinking, raw honesty. It is an epic sports movie that will deliver on all the wish-fulfillment that makes those films so thrilling to watch. At the same time, it is unlike any sports movie you have seen before.”
Are you excited for Wilde’s next directing venture?
