Opinion: Top ten Moments In Animation Part One!

When it comes to animation, whether it is eastern-style animation (cartoon) or western-style animation (anime), animations always seem to find a way into people’s hearts, creating beautiful moments for the viewers.

Animation has a way of making people feel emotional, even more so than most live-action. It can be in the form of nostalgia; it can be because you have attached yourself to the characters. After all, they made you feel sadness, happiness, even anger.

Anyway, that is enough rambling. Today we will talk about the best moments in animation.

Best Moments in Animation will be cut into multiple parts, so keep a lookout for that.

1. Shikamaru Dealing With Asuma’s Death

Naruto Shippuden

Any long time Naruto fan cried along side Shikamaru durning this scene because we had that emotional attachment to Shikamaru and Asuma.

With that being said, if you are not a Naruto fan this scene on its own is a masterpiece. The timing between each interaction was crafted masterfully. You can feel the emotional weight that Shikamaru carries and to see Shikamaru’s father, Shikaku, break down Shikamru’s barriers to help him grieve in a healthy way truly was a beautiful and a heartbreaking moment.

2. Death of Ace

One Piece

The Marineford War arc is one of the most iconic arcs in anime/manga. Marineford is the arc that got people into anime—filled with so much emotion; Joy, anxiety, anger, sadness, you name it.

Ace’s death is one of the most impactful deaths in anime, not just for the characters within the world, but for us as an audience. The Marineford arc legit destroyed our souls.

With many fans, Ecchirō Oda will go down in history as one of the greatest storytellers of all time, and I would have to agree with that assessment.

3. Agni Kai (Zuko vs. Azula)

Avatar The Last Air Bender

Everything about this final confrontation is nothing but breathtaking. To the sound design, musical score, the composition of the fight scene.

When people compare this to actual anime, I can’t even fault them for it because that’s what the entire show feels like. Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konoetzko killed it.

4. Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse (Leap of Faith)

Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse

When I first watched this movie, I told myself that this might be the best comic book movie. And on my twenty-five watch of this movie, it was a done deal Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse did become my favorite comic book movie along with Logan and Man of Steel.

Just getting to see the Hispanic side getting represented in the perfect way, but not only Hispanic but African American culture as well.

With that said, this is the scene that gave me goosebumps on goosebumps because Miles finally became free from all of the pressure that he felt in his previous scenes. Visually it was perfection; music was outstanding for the context of the moment. Truly a masterpiece.

5. Naruto vs. Sasuke Final Battle

Naruto Shippuden

The final concentration was the moment every Naruto fan wanted, since the Sasuke retrieval arc back in the OG Naruto days.

This fight, to me, is the top five anime fights of all time not only because of the badass choreography and animation, but the pure emotion throughout this battle is phenomenal. Sometimes this scene doesn’t get overshadowed by the Kakashi vs. Obito battle, which it shouldn’t.
