Upcoming thriller Dreamland brings together Gary Oldman, Armie Hammer, and Evangeline Lilly in this opioid-based film, which will feature three stories colliding. The three divisions centered around the world of opioids will be: a multi-cartel Fentanyl smuggling in between the US and Canada, an OxyContin addict who is also an architect who searches for the truth behind her son’s involvement in drugs, and a professor who battles new revelations about his employer, who happens to be a drug company that has deeply rooted ties with the government attempting to bring “non-addictive” painkillers to the consumer market.
Director and writer Nicholas Jarecki stated:
“The devastating impact of the opioid crisis reaches all corners of society. Gary, Armie, and Evangeline are the perfect performers to bring the human face of this epidemic to audiences everywhere.”
Dreamland has already begun principal photography and will film in parts of Montreal and Detroit. This film is bringing in three big names and considering Hammer is in the running for becoming the next Batman, I’m wondering if his performance here will help Matt Reeves decide if Hammer is the best bet for his upcoming movie The Batman.
