As you can imagine, everything is getting delayed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. This includes video games. Fans of The Last of Us should not be despaired though, as Naughty Dog is exploring options on how to release part II. It’s being said that the second part will be released in the fourth quarter of the current year.
Neil Druckmann, the head of Naughty Dog, explained that they weren’t exactly not expecting to get delayed:
“A few weeks ago we saw the writing on the wall and even before it was mandated, we started moving to get people to work from home. Everyone at Naughty Dog is now working from home on the game.”
He added:
“It’s there, that’s the frustrating part for us. It’s like the game is there, and we have to sit on it for a little bit and figure out what’s the best way to get it to our fans.”
Part of the delay, other than the COVID-19 outbreak; is that releasing physical copies of the game would be difficult considering people are urged to stay home. As soon as we know more, we will let you know.
